My Harley experience actually started 2 years ago at my very first Harley Garage Party^®. I was dating a man who was a Harley enthusiast and he actually recommended that I go to this Garage Party^®. He knew I loved Harleys, he knew I was also tired of riding behind him and thought it would be the perfect way to introduce me to the beautiful beast which is Harley-Davidson^®. I went to this event and right away I was hooked!! It is there that I met Maxine (H-D Laval’s beautiful and powerful receptionist!). She answered all of my questions and if she didn’t know the answer, she introduced me to the employee who did know the answer. I can honestly say that it is because of her that I own a Harley-Davidson^® today. She forced me to face my fears (forced is a strong word, she put absolutely no pressure on me) about owning a Harley and assured me that girls can do anything that boys can!

The year after that, I went to a second H-D Garage Party^®. Maxine was there, with the same welcoming smile! This is when I met the salesman who eventually sold me my H-D^®. He invited me to take a demo ride and I ultimately decided that this was going to be THE year I finally did it. How ironic that at the same time, the people over at the Harley-Davidson Motor Company started airing the «Make this the year» campaign for the «build your own bike» H-d1™ program. I took it as a sign. When my demo ride came along, I totally chickened out, but the salesman was there to reassure me. Not only did he reassure me, but he went the extra step and offered to come with me on the ride. I was touched. As soon as we came back from the ride, I decided that today was going to be the day. We went inside the store and he sat me down and explained all of the different models available for women my size. I still wasn’t completely sold on any particular model, so then he told me about «build your own bike» and it was the perfect option for me! That very same day, together with my salesman, we went online and put together the bike of my dreams. Once all my options were verified, we went ahead and ordered it, and the 4 to 6 week waiting period began… I don’t know how many times I must have called the dealership in the meantime, but my salesman always took my calls and was always there to answer any of my questions or concerns. The purchase and delivery of my H-D^® was perfectly smooth, problem-free and on time!

I could go on forever about the team over at Harley-Davidson^® Laval! I know practically all of them now on a first name basis. A more friendly and professional team of employees there could not be! They’ve set some pretty high standards for themselves. The reason it took me so long to finally buy a Harley was mostly because I was a petite woman, didn’t really speak the bike «lingo» and was afraid of after-sale servicing of my bike. I was afraid of being ripped-off by retailers who prey on little girls like me. None, and I mean NONE of those fears exist with the H-D Laval team. I feel totally at ease with every single one of them. I know they’ll do the best they can to get me the best price on parts, accessories, service, etc. Now I even have a go-to guy in the parts departments when I have questions about parts or even service. He helps me order stuff for my bike, tells me what would be optimal for the model I own and even gives me ideas on how to make my beast look more badass!! This group of employees is really top-notch and dedicated. I cannot even imagine going anywhere else for anything Harley related… that’s it! they’re stuck with me for life!! I go there on a weekly basis now and when I walk in, it’s like that old sitcom Cheers where everybody yells «NORM! Well they don’t yell my name, but I do make my rounds in each department and say my hellos to all the boys and girls! I feel completely at home and at ease at Harley-Davidson^® Laval. I’m part of their family. I feel silly when I think of how scared I used to be just to walk into that dealership alone. I used to sneak in quietly so as not to get noticed, now I run in! What touched me the most is that they all, and I mean ALL remember my name. That’s impressive! BRAVO to all the folks at Harley-Davidson^® Laval, keep up the exceptional work and whatever you guys are doing, keep doing it because you’re definitely on the right track! If they were able to help me come out of my shell, they can help absolutely anyone! If only automobile retailers gave this kind of exceptional service!

J’aimerais que plus de femmes surmontent leur peur de conduire une moto. Je n’ai absolument rien de négatif à dire à propos de l’équipe qui me sert, ils connaissent leur affaire ! Je suis fière d’être leur fan #1 et j’espère que témoignage peut aider d’autres femmes qui ont les mêmes inquiétudes que j’avais à finalement se joindre à la grande famille Harley-Davidson^MD.
